History

It was at least 10 years before Michael Clayton and Andrew Meadows last saw each other, so from a chance encounter they began to catch up with each others lives in earnest.

They both had a great love for gothic music and from this, over the next eight months, a band was formed with Michael, Andy, and another old friend from the gothic scene way back in 86-87.

With little musical experience between them, they persevered with their new instruments and continued to experiment with their music until summer 2001 when they drafted in new member Stuart Meadows, who brought much needed musical knowledge into the band.

Shortly afterwards, due to differences in music taste and styles, there came a change of band name and line up which gave birth to Dark Horizon. A new atmospheric sound was created using Stuart’s electronic background as a focus point to blend contemporary with a traditional gothic sound. Andy predominately became the lyricist and Michael found himself coerced into the position of vocalist.
